Planting Instructions for Annabelle Hydrangea

  1. Choosing the Right Location: Plant your Annabelle Hydrangea in full sun to partial shade. In northern gardens it can handle more sun, but in hot climates give it afternoon shade to protect the large leaves from wilting and keep the white blooms fresh. It is very cold hardy in USDA zones 3 through 9.
  2. Soil Preparation: Annabelle adapts to many soil types, but it performs best in moist, well-drained soil enriched with compost. Loosen the soil in an area two to three times as wide as the root ball so new roots can spread easily.
