How We Ship Your Plants
Ordering live plants online should feel exciting, not stressful! We only ship healthy, well-rooted trees and plants!
Beware- not all plant nurseries are the same! Others can cut corners to save money:
- We never ship bareroot plants
- We never cut roots to fit into a small box
- We always ship plants with healthy, developed roots so they establish faster at your home
- We focus on plant health first- not minimizing shipping costs
A strong root system is the foundation for long-term success, and we believe your plant should arrive ready to thrive- not struggling to recover from shortcuts.
How we Select Your Plants
Once you place your order, our nursery team selects your plant and inspects it to make sure it meets our quality standards. Every plant we ship is chosen for:
- Strong health and vibrant foliage
- A well-developed root system
- Correct sizing based on your order
We take pride in sending plants that are ready to succeed when they arrive at your home. We try our best to exceed your expectations!
Once your plants are selected, we give them a drink of water before their journey. Then, we wrap each plant's roots up in a plastic bag, so that they do not dry out during shipping.
Carefully Packed & Protected
Live plants can’t be packed like ordinary boxes, so we do it differently.
Your plant is carefully secured inside a strong shipping box to protect it while traveling. Packaging may include:
- Support materials for stability
- Protection around the pot and roots
- Reinforced boxing for added protection
For larger trees, we use oversize boxes designed to safely accommodate the size and structure of your plant during shipping.
Sometimes, you will receive multiple plants inside a box. This is helpful because it can evenly distribute the weight throughout the box, which helps keeps the plants safe and secure throughout delivery.
Fast & Reliable with FedEx
Most Nationwide Plants orders ship with FedEx. Over the years, we’ve found FedEx to be the best carrier for live plants, especially larger items, because:
- They deliver quickest across the country
- They are the most gentle with live plants
- Faster transit means less plant stress
Once your order ships, we will email you tracking information so you can follow your delivery from our nursery to your doorstep.
We ship Monday through Friday. Most orders ship the next business day, unless you request a custom shipping date.
Multiple Nursery Locations
We ship from multiple locations across the country, including both the East Coast and West Coast. This allows us to:
- Deliver faster in more regions
- Reduce time in transit for your plants
- Ship large items more efficiently

How We Measure Your Trees
We measure tree height from the soil line, not including the pot.
That means when you order a 5-6 ft. tree, you’re getting a tree that is 5-6 ft. tall above the soil, not “including the container.” This gives you a good idea of what to expect when your trees arrive, and what they will look like when they are in the ground.

After Your Plants Arrive
It’s completely normal for a plant to look slightly different after shipping. Your plant has been traveling in a box, so you may notice:
- Minor leaf drop
- Soil that shifted slightly in the pot
- Temporary drooping from being in a darker environment
In most cases, your plant perks up quickly once it’s unboxed, watered (if needed), and placed in the proper environment.
Unboxing Your Plants
When your plants arrive, we recommend:
-
Open carefully (avoid cutting into foliage)
-
Remove all packing materials
-
Check soil moisture (If the soil feels dry, give it a thorough watering)
-
Let the plant recover (Give it a little fresh air after shipping)
If you ever have questions or concerns, we’re happy to help!

'Sundew' Double Yellow Asiatic Lily Bulbs – A Stunning, Pollen-Free Bloom for Your Garden
If you want to add vibrant color, unique texture, and a pollen-free flower to your garden, the Sundew Double Asiatic Lily is the perfect choice. This variety stands out for its multiple layers of petals, giving it a lush, full appearance. Unlike traditional Asiatic lilies, it lacks a pollen-producing stamen, making it a cleaner choice for patios, garden beds, and indoor floral arrangements.
Why You’ll Love Sundew Double Asiatic Lilies
1. Pollen-Free and Allergy-Friendly
One of the biggest advantages of the Sundew Double Asiatic Lily is that it does not produce pollen. Traditional lilies can stain furniture, clothing, and even your skin with their pollen, but this variety eliminates that issue. It’s also a great choice for allergy sufferers who want to enjoy lilies without the usual concerns.
2. Full, Layered Blooms for a Luxurious Look
Unlike standard Asiatic lilies, which have a single layer of petals, the Sundew Double Asiatic Lily features a double-petaled structure. This results in a fuller, more striking flower that resembles a peony. The extra petals also make the bloom last longer, giving you more time to enjoy its beauty in the garden or a vase.
3. Bright, Eye-Catching Color
Sundew Double Asiatic Lilies boast a bright yellow color with speckling near the center. These flowers create a beautiful contrast in mixed flower beds and bring a soft, romantic charm to your landscape. Whether planted in clusters or mixed with other perennials, they stand out as a focal point.
4. Compact Size – Ideal for Small Gardens and Containers
Unlike taller Oriental lilies, Asiatic lilies are more compact, typically reaching about 24 to 36 inches in height. This makes them excellent for smaller gardens, container planting, and border areas. If you’re short on space but still want bold, showy blooms, this is a perfect solution.
5. Early to Mid-Summer Bloomer
Sundew Double Asiatic Lilies bloom earlier in the season than Oriental lilies, typically flowering in early to mid-summer. This means you’ll enjoy stunning color at a time when many other perennials are still developing. If you plant them alongside later-blooming varieties, you can extend the beauty of your garden throughout the growing season.
6. Low Maintenance and Easy to Grow
These lilies are known for their hardiness and adaptability. They thrive in USDA zones 3-9, meaning they can withstand a range of climates. With proper care, they will return year after year with even more blooms.
Basic Care Instructions:
- Sunlight: Full sun to partial shade (at least 6 hours of sunlight daily).
- Soil: Well-draining, slightly acidic to neutral soil.
- Watering: Moderate; avoid waterlogging to prevent bulb rot.
- Mulching: Helps retain moisture and regulate soil temperature.
- Fertilizing: A balanced fertilizer in early spring encourages strong growth.
Where to Use Sundew Double Asiatic Lilies
1. Garden Beds and Borders
These lilies make a great addition to flower beds, where they provide height and structure among lower-growing plants. They also work well as border plants, offering a vibrant contrast to green foliage.
2. Containers and Patio Displays
Because of their compact size, they thrive in pots and containers, making them a great choice for patios, balconies, and small-space gardens.
3. Cut Flower Arrangements
Sundew Double Asiatic Lilies make excellent cut flowers due to their pollen-free nature and long-lasting blooms. Their lack of pollen means they won’t stain clothing or tablecloths, making them ideal for indoor floral displays.
Interesting Facts About Double Asiatic Lilies
- Unlike Oriental lilies, Asiatic varieties do not have a strong fragrance, making them perfect for people who prefer scent-free flowers.
- The double-petaled form was developed through selective breeding to enhance its aesthetic appeal and extend bloom time.
- Asiatic lilies are among the easiest lilies to grow, making them a great choice for beginners and experienced gardeners alike.

The Sundew Double Asiatic Lily is a must-have for anyone who loves bold, colorful flowers but wants a low-maintenance and pollen-free option. Whether you’re planting them in a garden bed, using them as a cut flower, or displaying them in a patio container, their lush blooms and easy-care nature make them a standout choice.
