How We Ship Your Plants
Ordering live plants online should feel exciting, not stressful! We only ship healthy, well-rooted trees and plants!
Beware- not all plant nurseries are the same! Others can cut corners to save money:
- We never ship bareroot plants
- We never cut roots to fit into a small box
- We always ship plants with healthy, developed roots so they establish faster at your home
- We focus on plant health first- not minimizing shipping costs
A strong root system is the foundation for long-term success, and we believe your plant should arrive ready to thrive- not struggling to recover from shortcuts.
How we Select Your Plants
Once you place your order, our nursery team selects your plant and inspects it to make sure it meets our quality standards. Every plant we ship is chosen for:
- Strong health and vibrant foliage
- A well-developed root system
- Correct sizing based on your order
We take pride in sending plants that are ready to succeed when they arrive at your home. We try our best to exceed your expectations!
Once your plants are selected, we give them a drink of water before their journey. Then, we wrap each plant's roots up in a plastic bag, so that they do not dry out during shipping.
Carefully Packed & Protected
Live plants can’t be packed like ordinary boxes, so we do it differently.
Your plant is carefully secured inside a strong shipping box to protect it while traveling. Packaging may include:
- Support materials for stability
- Protection around the pot and roots
- Reinforced boxing for added protection
For larger trees, we use oversize boxes designed to safely accommodate the size and structure of your plant during shipping.
Sometimes, you will receive multiple plants inside a box. This is helpful because it can evenly distribute the weight throughout the box, which helps keeps the plants safe and secure throughout delivery.
Fast & Reliable with FedEx
Most Nationwide Plants orders ship with FedEx. Over the years, we’ve found FedEx to be the best carrier for live plants, especially larger items, because:
- They deliver quickest across the country
- They are the most gentle with live plants
- Faster transit means less plant stress
Once your order ships, we will email you tracking information so you can follow your delivery from our nursery to your doorstep.
We ship Monday through Friday. Most orders ship the next business day, unless you request a custom shipping date.
Multiple Nursery Locations
We ship from multiple locations across the country, including both the East Coast and West Coast. This allows us to:
- Deliver faster in more regions
- Reduce time in transit for your plants
- Ship large items more efficiently

How We Measure Your Trees
We measure tree height from the soil line, not including the pot.
That means when you order a 5-6 ft. tree, you’re getting a tree that is 5-6 ft. tall above the soil, not “including the container.” This gives you a good idea of what to expect when your trees arrive, and what they will look like when they are in the ground.

After Your Plants Arrive
It’s completely normal for a plant to look slightly different after shipping. Your plant has been traveling in a box, so you may notice:
- Minor leaf drop
- Soil that shifted slightly in the pot
- Temporary drooping from being in a darker environment
In most cases, your plant perks up quickly once it’s unboxed, watered (if needed), and placed in the proper environment.
Unboxing Your Plants
When your plants arrive, we recommend:
-
Open carefully (avoid cutting into foliage)
-
Remove all packing materials
-
Check soil moisture (If the soil feels dry, give it a thorough watering)
-
Let the plant recover (Give it a little fresh air after shipping)
If you ever have questions or concerns, we’re happy to help!

We stand behind every order we ship with our 30-Day Plant Promise.
If your plant dies within 30 days of delivery, we will replace it or refund it. We’ve found that if there are ever issues, they typically show up in the first 30 days- so this guarantee gives our customers real peace of mind.
If anything doesn’t look right, contact us and we’ll help you troubleshoot quickly.

Why You’ll Love Alocasia ‘Frydek’
Alocasia ‘Frydek’ is not just another houseplant—it’s a statement piece. The rich, deep green foliage looks almost like a piece of fine velvet, catching the light beautifully and adding a sophisticated touch to any space. Unlike glossy-leaved Alocasias, the texture of ‘Frydek’ sets it apart, making it feel luxurious and rare.
This plant’s striking white veins create a contrast that gives it a dramatic, high-end look. Whether you place it on a tabletop, in a decorative pot, or among a collection of other plants, ‘Frydek’ naturally draws the eye and becomes a conversation starter.
If you love the idea of growing a plant that thrives in a warm, humid environment, ‘Frydek’ is perfect for you. It’s well-suited for indoor growing, especially in spaces with bright, indirect light. Though it requires consistent care, this Alocasia rewards you with stunning foliage and a truly unique presence in your home.
How to Care for Alocasia ‘Frydek’
To keep your Alocasia Micholitziana ‘Frydek’ thriving, it’s essential to replicate its natural tropical environment as much as possible. While it’s a bit more particular than some common houseplants, with the right care, it will flourish beautifully.
Light Requirements
‘Frydek’ thrives in bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the delicate leaves. A spot near an east- or north-facing window is ideal. If natural light is limited, a grow light can help maintain its vibrant foliage.
Watering Needs
Alocasia ‘Frydek’ enjoys consistent moisture, but it does not tolerate soggy soil. Water when the top inch of soil feels dry, ensuring excess water drains properly. Using a pot with drainage holes is essential to prevent root rot.
Humidity & Temperature
This plant loves humidity, making it an excellent choice for bathrooms, kitchens, or rooms with a humidifier. Aim for at least 60% humidity to keep the leaves lush and healthy.
Ideal temperatures for ‘Frydek’ range between 65-80°F (18-27°C). Avoid placing it near drafts, air conditioners, or heaters, as temperature fluctuations can stress the plant.
Soil Preferences
A well-draining, airy soil mix is best. A combination of potting soil, perlite, and orchid bark provides the drainage and aeration needed to keep the roots healthy.
Fertilizing Routine
During the growing season (spring and summer), feed your ‘Frydek’ with a balanced, diluted liquid fertilizer every 2-4 weeks. Reduce feeding in fall and winter when the plant’s growth slows down.
Repotting & Maintenance
Repot your Alocasia ‘Frydek’ every 1-2 years to refresh the soil and provide ample space for growth. Trim any yellowing or damaged leaves to keep the plant looking its best.
Alocasia ‘Frydek’ in Your Home
Alocasia ‘Frydek’ is an excellent choice for plant enthusiasts who appreciate unique foliage and are willing to provide the right care. This plant brings a bold, tropical flair to any space, whether in a modern apartment, an office, or a greenhouse.
Since it thrives in high humidity, pairing it with other tropical plants like Calatheas, Anthuriums, or Philodendrons can help create a lush indoor jungle. Placing it on a plant stand or in a decorative pot enhances its beauty even further.
For those who enjoy caring for more uncommon and rewarding houseplants, ‘Frydek’ is an exciting addition to any collection. Its velvety leaves and striking white veins make it truly one-of-a-kind among Alocasias.
Is Alocasia ‘Frydek’ Right for You?
If you love dramatic, bold foliage and don’t mind a plant that requires a little extra attention, ‘Frydek’ will be a showstopper in your collection. It’s ideal for those who enjoy providing the right conditions to see a plant thrive. While it may not be the easiest houseplant, it rewards proper care with stunning growth.
If you’re ready to add a touch of velvet elegance to your home, Alocasia Micholitziana ‘Frydek’ is an incredible choice. With its deep green, soft-textured leaves and high-contrast veins, it’s a true collector’s plant that stands out in any indoor space.
