How We Ship Your Plants
Ordering live plants online should feel exciting, not stressful! We only ship healthy, well-rooted trees and plants!
Beware- not all plant nurseries are the same! Others can cut corners to save money:
- We never ship bareroot plants
- We never cut roots to fit into a small box
- We always ship plants with healthy, developed roots so they establish faster at your home
- We focus on plant health first- not minimizing shipping costs
A strong root system is the foundation for long-term success, and we believe your plant should arrive ready to thrive- not struggling to recover from shortcuts.
How we Select Your Plants
Once you place your order, our nursery team selects your plant and inspects it to make sure it meets our quality standards. Every plant we ship is chosen for:
- Strong health and vibrant foliage
- A well-developed root system
- Correct sizing based on your order
We take pride in sending plants that are ready to succeed when they arrive at your home. We try our best to exceed your expectations!
Once your plants are selected, we give them a drink of water before their journey. Then, we wrap each plant's roots up in a plastic bag, so that they do not dry out during shipping.
Carefully Packed & Protected
Live plants canât be packed like ordinary boxes, so we do it differently.
Your plant is carefully secured inside a strong shipping box to protect it while traveling. Packaging may include:
- Support materials for stability
- Protection around the pot and roots
- Reinforced boxing for added protection
For larger trees, we use oversize boxes designed to safely accommodate the size and structure of your plant during shipping.
Sometimes, you will receive multiple plants inside a box. This is helpful because it can evenly distribute the weight throughout the box, which helps keeps the plants safe and secure throughout delivery.
Fast & Reliable with FedEx
Most Nationwide Plants orders ship with FedEx. Over the years, weâve found FedEx to be the best carrier for live plants, especially larger items, because:
- They deliver quickest across the country
- They are the most gentle with live plants
- Faster transit means less plant stress
Once your order ships, we will email you tracking information so you can follow your delivery from our nursery to your doorstep.
We ship Monday through Friday. Most orders ship the next business day, unless you request a custom shipping date.
Multiple Nursery Locations
We ship from multiple locations across the country, including both the East Coast and West Coast. This allows us to:
- Deliver faster in more regions
- Reduce time in transit for your plants
- Ship large items more efficiently

How We Measure Your Trees
We measure tree height from the soil line, not including the pot.
That means when you order a 5-6 ft. tree, youâre getting a tree that is 5-6 ft. tall above the soil, not âincluding the container.â This gives you a good idea of what to expect when your trees arrive, and what they will look like when they are in the ground.

After Your Plants Arrive
Itâs completely normal for a plant to look slightly different after shipping. Your plant has been traveling in a box, so you may notice:
- Minor leaf drop
- Soil that shifted slightly in the pot
- Temporary drooping from being in a darker environment
In most cases, your plant perks up quickly once itâs unboxed, watered (if needed), and placed in the proper environment.
Unboxing Your Plants
When your plants arrive, we recommend:
-
Open carefully (avoid cutting into foliage)
-
Remove all packing materials
-
Check soil moisture (If the soil feels dry, give it a thorough watering)
-
Let the plant recover (Give it a little fresh air after shipping)
If you ever have questions or concerns, weâre happy to help!

Winter Gold Juniper: Bright Golden Evergreen Color for Every Season
Add warm, lasting color to your landscape with Winter Gold Juniper. This low-growing evergreen spreads wide and brings bright golden foliage from late winter through early fall. In winter, the foliage can turn bronze while the branch tips keep their golden glow.
Winter Gold Juniper is a great choice for sunny slopes, foundation beds, borders, mass plantings, and mixed landscapes. It also handles heat better than many other golden junipers, making it a dependable choice for warm, sunny areas.
Why You'll Love Winter Gold Juniper
Bright Golden Foliage: Rich gold color adds warmth to the landscape from late winter through early autumn.
Beautiful Winter Color: The foliage can shift to bronze in cold weather while the tips stay golden.
Heat Tolerant: Winter Gold Juniper performs well in warm climates and sunny locations.
Year-Round Evergreen Texture: The foliage stays on the plant through every season.
Low, Spreading Growth: Its broad shape works well on slopes, in mass plantings, and around larger shrubs.
Low Maintenance: Once established, this durable evergreen needs very little pruning or extra care.
Golden Color That Changes With the Seasons
The main feature of Winter Gold Juniper is its changing foliage color. From late winter through early fall, the plant shows bright golden tones that stand out in the garden.
When colder weather arrives, the foliage may develop warm bronze shades while keeping golden color near the tips. This gives your landscape extra interest during winter.
A Spreading Evergreen for Sunny Landscapes
Winter Gold Juniper grows low and wide, helping fill open spaces with dense evergreen foliage. Its spreading habit adds color without creating a tall or bulky plant.
It pairs well with flowering shrubs, ornamental grasses, green evergreens, and colorful perennials.
Where to Plant Winter Gold Juniper
Slopes and Hillsides: Use it to cover sunny banks and add year-round color.
Foundation Plantings: Plant it near your home for low evergreen structure and bright foliage.
Mass Plantings: Use several plants together to create a wide sweep of golden color.
Mixed Borders: Pair it with green, purple, or flowering plants for strong contrast.
Back Borders: Its broad growth can help fill larger planting areas and add structure.
Hedges and Screens: Use multiple plants where you want low, spreading evergreen coverage.
Winter Gold Juniper Sun and Soil Needs
Sunlight: Plant Winter Gold Juniper in full sun for the strongest golden foliage color.
Soil: This juniper grows best in well-drained soil and can handle a range of moisture levels from somewhat moist to dry once established.
Watering: Water regularly while the plant is getting established. After the roots are settled in, Winter Gold Juniper becomes easier to maintain and can handle drier conditions.
Soft Young Growth With Mature Evergreen Texture
Young Winter Gold Juniper plants have soft, needle-like foliage. As the plant matures, the foliage becomes more scale-like and develops a mix of green and gold tones.
This changing texture adds extra visual interest as the plant grows.
Blue Berry-Like Cones Add Seasonal Interest
Mature Winter Gold Junipers may produce small blue berry-like cones. These add another layer of color and texture to the evergreen foliage.
The blue cones can create an attractive contrast against the plant's gold and bronze tones.
Easy Care With Very Little Maintenance
Winter Gold Juniper is a tough landscape plant that usually needs very little pruning. Give it plenty of sun, good drainage, and steady water while it becomes established.
Once settled in, it can provide dependable color and texture with very little attention.
Warm Evergreen Color for Year-Round Landscapes
If you want a durable evergreen with golden foliage, winter bronze color, heat tolerance, and easy-care growth, Winter Gold Juniper is an excellent choice.
Plant Winter Gold Juniper for glowing year-round color, simple care, and dependable beauty in sunny landscape spaces.
