How We Ship Your Plants
Ordering live plants online should feel exciting, not stressful! We only ship healthy, well-rooted trees and plants!
Beware- not all plant nurseries are the same! Others can cut corners to save money:
- We never ship bareroot plants
- We never cut roots to fit into a small box
- We always ship plants with healthy, developed roots so they establish faster at your home
- We focus on plant health first- not minimizing shipping costs
A strong root system is the foundation for long-term success, and we believe your plant should arrive ready to thrive- not struggling to recover from shortcuts.
How we Select Your Plants
Once you place your order, our nursery team selects your plant and inspects it to make sure it meets our quality standards. Every plant we ship is chosen for:
- Strong health and vibrant foliage
- A well-developed root system
- Correct sizing based on your order
We take pride in sending plants that are ready to succeed when they arrive at your home. We try our best to exceed your expectations!
Once your plants are selected, we give them a drink of water before their journey. Then, we wrap each plant's roots up in a plastic bag, so that they do not dry out during shipping.
Carefully Packed & Protected
Live plants can’t be packed like ordinary boxes, so we do it differently.
Your plant is carefully secured inside a strong shipping box to protect it while traveling. Packaging may include:
- Support materials for stability
- Protection around the pot and roots
- Reinforced boxing for added protection
For larger trees, we use oversize boxes designed to safely accommodate the size and structure of your plant during shipping.
Sometimes, you will receive multiple plants inside a box. This is helpful because it can evenly distribute the weight throughout the box, which helps keeps the plants safe and secure throughout delivery.
Fast & Reliable with FedEx
Most Nationwide Plants orders ship with FedEx. Over the years, we’ve found FedEx to be the best carrier for live plants, especially larger items, because:
- They deliver quickest across the country
- They are the most gentle with live plants
- Faster transit means less plant stress
Once your order ships, we will email you tracking information so you can follow your delivery from our nursery to your doorstep.
We ship Monday through Friday. Most orders ship the next business day, unless you request a custom shipping date.
Multiple Nursery Locations
We ship from multiple locations across the country, including both the East Coast and West Coast. This allows us to:
- Deliver faster in more regions
- Reduce time in transit for your plants
- Ship large items more efficiently

How We Measure Your Trees
We measure tree height from the soil line, not including the pot.
That means when you order a 5-6 ft. tree, you’re getting a tree that is 5-6 ft. tall above the soil, not “including the container.” This gives you a good idea of what to expect when your trees arrive, and what they will look like when they are in the ground.

After Your Plants Arrive
It’s completely normal for a plant to look slightly different after shipping. Your plant has been traveling in a box, so you may notice:
- Minor leaf drop
- Soil that shifted slightly in the pot
- Temporary drooping from being in a darker environment
In most cases, your plant perks up quickly once it’s unboxed, watered (if needed), and placed in the proper environment.
Unboxing Your Plants
When your plants arrive, we recommend:
-
Open carefully (avoid cutting into foliage)
-
Remove all packing materials
-
Check soil moisture (If the soil feels dry, give it a thorough watering)
-
Let the plant recover (Give it a little fresh air after shipping)
If you ever have questions or concerns, we’re happy to help!

Description
Hamlin Orange Tree: Sweet, Seedless Juice Before Anyone Else
The Hamlin (Citrus sinensis 'Hamlin') is Florida's classic early-season juice orange, the variety that built the state's juice industry, and it's loved for one thing above all: glassfuls of smooth, sweet, low-acid juice with almost no seeds to spit out. The fruit is medium-sized with a thin, easy-peel skin, and the flesh is pale gold, tender, and dripping with juice. Best of all, it ripens weeks before most oranges, so you're pouring fresh-squeezed juice while other trees are still hard and green. Grow one, and store juice will taste flat by comparison.
- Grafted & grown by citrus experts to ensure your success. Your tree arrives strong, true-to-type, and ready to fruit at home.
- Ripens early. Sweetens from fall into early winter, giving you fresh oranges ahead of the pack.
- Nearly seedless and super juicy. Few to no seeds and a high juice content make it the gold standard for fresh-squeezed juice.
- Sweet and mild, not sharp. Low acidity gives soft, mellow juice that kids and sensitive palates love.
- Heavy, dependable bearer. A mature tree crops in abundance, keeping a household in juice all season.
The Freshest Juice You'll Ever Pour
Store juice is squeezed weeks before you drink it, so it loses its bright, fresh taste. Your own tree fixes that. You pick a sun-warmed Hamlin and squeeze it into your glass the same morning, so every sip is sweet, smooth, and full of vitamin C. That's fresh-squeezed juice on demand, for pennies, right off your own branch.
Oranges While Everyone Else Is Still Waiting
Most sweet oranges make you wait until deep winter, but the Hamlin is one of the first to ripen. It sweetens from October into December, so you're enjoying fresh oranges while the holidays are still ahead. You get a head start on the season, and juice at its freshest weeks before the crowd.
Sweet and Gentle Enough for the Whole Family
Some oranges are sharp and sour, but the Hamlin runs low in acid, so its juice is soft, mellow, and easy to love. That makes it a hit with kids and anyone who finds regular orange juice too tart. Sweet flavor, no pucker, and a healthy glass everyone actually wants to drink.
Grown in a Citripot for a Stronger Tree
Your tree ships in a citripot, a tall, narrow container built to grow better roots. Ordinary pots make roots circle round and round until they choke the plant. The citripot stops that. It guides the roots to grow straight down and branch into a dense, healthy web instead of tangling.
Here's what that means for you. Stronger roots pull in water and food more easily, so your tree arrives sturdy and takes off faster once you plant it. You get healthier growth, greener leaves, more blossoms, and a plant that settles in with less fuss. It's the difference between a tree that struggles and one that thrives from day one.
For Florida Gardeners: Plant It Your Way
If you live in Florida, you get the best of both worlds. Plant this orange in a warm, sunny spot in your yard, or keep it in a large pot on the patio, whichever suits you. In the ground it grows into a full, heavy-bearing tree. In a container it stays more compact and easy to move if a rare cold snap rolls in. Either way, you get sweet, juicy oranges right where you cook and relax.
Please Note: We Can Only Ship to Florida
Because of agricultural rules that protect citrus trees from pests and disease, we can only ship this Hamlin Orange to customers inside Florida. If that's you, you're in luck, this tree was practically made for your warm, sunny climate. If you live outside Florida, we're sorry we can't send it your way just yet.
Don't Miss Out on Fresh-Squeezed Oranges
Sweet, seedless juice oranges picked at their peak are a treat no carton can match, and here's a tree that hands them to you early and often. It ships fast, arrives healthy in its citripot, and comes backed by our guarantee. Every glass of store juice is a reminder of the fresh ones you could be pouring at home. Florida gardeners, order your Hamlin Orange Tree today, before you wish you had.
