  1. Choosing the Right Location: Plant Pindo Palm in full sun to partial sun; more sun produces a fuller crown and more fruit. It handles heat, wind, and salty coastal air, making it a strong choice for coastal, desert, and Mediterranean-style landscapes. Choose a spot where fallen fruit will not stain patios or driveways.
  2. Soil Preparation: Provide well-draining soil, which is important to prevent root rot. Pindo Palm tolerates sandy and average garden soils; loosen the planting area and mix in some compost if your soil is heavy, and avoid low spots where water stands after rain.
  3. Planting: Dig a hole about twice as wide as the root ball and no deeper, and set the palm at the same depth it grew in the container; never bury the trunk. It grows 15 to 20 feet tall with a spread of 10 to 15 feet, so plant it at least 8 to 10 feet from buildings and other trees.
